// 03 — GLP-1 SUPPORT

We have the GLP-1 supplements you need

GLP-1 drugs such as semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Zepbound®) enhance insulin secretion, slow gastric emptying, and promote satiety. These effects support glycemic control and weight management but can also reduce food intake enough to affect nutrient absorption — here's what we recommend alongside your prescription.

Vitamin B12

GLP-1 drugs can slow gastric emptying, which may affect B12 absorption. B12 is vital for red blood cell formation, neurological function, and DNA synthesis — low levels can lead to anemia, fatigue, and neurological issues.

Recommendation: 500–1000 mcg daily, especially on long-term GLP-1 therapy

Folate (B9)

Essential for DNA synthesis and cell division, and particularly important for women of childbearing age since it helps prevent neural tube defects. Absorption can be affected by GI changes from treatment.

Recommendation: 400–800 mcg daily, through diet or supplementation

Vitamin D

Critical for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation. Weight loss associated with GLP-1 drugs can sometimes shift vitamin D levels, and many people are already deficient.

Recommendation: 1000–2000 IU of D3 daily — check levels with your provider

Calcium

Works alongside vitamin D to support bone health. Since GLP-1 drugs can reduce appetite, keeping calcium intake adequate matters more if your overall diet volume decreases.

Recommendation: 1000–1200 mg daily from food or supplements

Omega-3 fatty acids

Essential fats supporting heart health, inflammation, and brain function. GLP-1 drugs don't directly affect omega-3 levels, but intake matters more if your diet becomes more restricted.

Recommendation: 1000 mg EPA/DHA daily if fatty fish isn't a regular part of your diet

Magnesium

Involved in over 300 biochemical reactions, including muscle function, nerve transmission, and blood glucose control. Reduced food intake can lower magnesium levels.

Recommendation: 310–420 mg daily depending on age and gender

Probiotics

GLP-1 drugs slow gastric emptying and can affect gut motility, so maintaining a healthy gut microbiome matters for digestion and overall gut health.

Recommendation: A daily probiotic, or fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, and kimchi
Before adding any new vitamins or supplements to your routine, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider. They can assess your individual needs, monitor potential interactions with your GLP-1 medication, and adjust recommendations accordingly.
